2nd Family Trip: Hong Kong (Day 2 evening - The Peak & Madame Tussauds)

Hong Kong: 23 - 30 January 2013

After a fun-filled day at Ocean Park, kids took a nap on the bus during the bus journey out from the Ocean Park.

Initial plan was to follow the guide, take a train to MTR Central station and walk to The Peak Tram Lower Terminus to catch a tram up to Madame Tussauds. But I saw signages 'to The Peak' and followed accordingly as I thought that it was alternative to The Peak Lower Terminus.

Got a little lost in between as the bus stop was so hard to locate, saw McDonalds on the way and stopped for a dinner break.

Finally saw a bus stop with Mini bus No. 1 that heads straight to The Peak. This seemed to be the only choice as we were already very lost. Took a 15-20mins bus journey and realized that we are on the wrong track! Instead of bringing us to The Peak Tram Terminus, the bus bought us all the way up to The Peak.

I made an online purchase for 2-way tram tickets, entrance to Madame Tussauds and Skyterrace.
Wasting a ride up from the 3-in-1 combo that I've bought online is fine so long as we are able to reach the destination safely. But, it's the up-riding trip that makes the tram ride interesting and we missed it! Sigh.

Tickets can only be collected at the Tram Terminus and officer told me to buy a 1-way ticket down to collect my tickets and use my ticket to come up again. The queue was mad, I was reluctant to spend money again and it's already 8.30pm!

Luckily, I ignored this person and went to seek advice from Madame Tussauds staff. Someone will eventually be kind enough to let me in right? Finally managed to get some help as one of their colleague will be coming up at 9.15pm and can collect on my behalf, phew!

Finally got our entrance tickets!

The very out-dated Jay

Just as I was feeling that Jay has out-grown this face, Madame Tussauds has made a new wax figure for him this year! Sigh, why don't they do it earlier!!!

Wasted a bit of time and money but everything was still fun. Only exception was that baby Tiden is not feeling well and was crying most of the time. Guessed his nose is uncomfortable due to the dry and cold weather. We didn't spend a lot of time at the Sky Terrace and left after a while.

Took the Tram down and walked to the nearest station to catch a train home and HK subways operating hours are very good as the last trains are usually after midnight.

Baby Tiden shitted on our way to the station, stopped crying and was so happy after that. Hence, one of the reason must be stomach uneasiness for the constant cries! Both Travis and Tristan have done a good job today, they followed the adults and walked all the way from morning till night.

Tomorrow's another day to look forward, yeah!
