Wedding preparations (Recee for outdoor photoshoot venue)

Set a day to recee for places that are good for our outdoor wedding photo shoot and before we embarked on our journey, we listed out all the places to visit. Since Liang's job were mainly running around for events, many of the were suggested via his work encounters.

However, rejected the following:

Singapore Flyer

Shortlisted and visited the following:

Railway track

Punngol Town Park
(beside our new house)

(Jewel Bridge)

(New park opposite Marina Barrage)

Nice overview of Singapore Flyer and MBS

Bayfront
(Near MBS)

Gardens by the Bay (Not opened yet till end of year)

Fruitful day out to various places and guess we already have an idea where to go for photo shoot. Next step is to work on the time required to travel from places to places and plan in accordance.

Thank you fiancé for putting in effort and taking time off to visit these places. Things wouldn't be possible nor progress smoothly without your participation, I love you!

Wedding preparations (Fiance fitting of clothes)

After my fitting, it's HTB turn. What was available at the bridal shop for him was either too big or too small and doesn't look good as it will be too tight or loose. It is also difficult to get a right size off the shelves at retail shop due to his size and hence, we decided to pay a bit more and customized one set instead.

Since we are unable to find any nice shirts for photo-taking, we took the chance to choose the cloth and customized 2 shirts too!

His suit and pants are ready for fitting today and every piece turns out well. I liked both the yellow and white shirt, and the way the cutting and buttons was designed. Spent a bit at J.L collection location at Peninsular Excelsior Shopping Centre but was worth it as the results were as expected.

This shirt is for morning gate crashing!
Woof Woof
This will be the shirt for march in!

Wedding preparations (Getting started - Gatecrash theme)

Many researches were done on the internet and reading through all sorts of wedding magazines. Few ideas came to mind with all sorts of themes such as beach related, single color defined, funny characters but all don't seem to fit.

After shopping around and checking out lots of websites, we've decided that since it is an happy affair, we should use happy colors that are loud!

As we have 10 brothers and sisters and after selecting Navy blue, Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Purple and Pink, we're still short of 1 color!

Cheerful colors

Once the theme has been decided, things are easier to move on.

Thought of looking for another color to meet 10 colors so that each person can take 1 color but after going through our 'to-buy' list, it's too difficult to find different colors for all the items -and it's better not to make life difficult for ourselves!

Finalized the theme for sisters and brothers for the gate crash with bright colors:

- Yellow (Groom)
- Green
- Orange
- Pink

As gate crashing is a physically challenged session, didn't want the brothers and sisters to perspire with their pretty gowns and formal wear so decided to do it casual with polo-tee and bermudas for the guys, and polo-tee and 3/4 jeans for the gals.

Wedding preparations (Wedding favors)

Searched for wedding favors at the local stores and can't seem to get any of our preferences. Goggled online for the longest time and finally HTB found something that he really liked!

So happens that the online sample is my name, ignore the surname please.
Hence, we went ahead to make the online purchase and as it's a placecard holder which not everyone will use, I've decided to mix 2 different wedding favors so that guests can pick what they preferred.

I made another selection for a customized tins which I can put customized candies / chocolates so that kids and other adults who do not prefer a placecard holder can take this as a souvenir. Can't seem to find the right tins in Singapore shops so went ahead to buy from the website as well and customized the sticker that will be pasted on the tins.

Other stuff that were being purchased via iShopUSA includes the badges for brothers and sisters to wear in the morning gatecrash, as well as a Groom and Bride badges for fun.

Budget has exceed from our targeted spending but what's important is that we managed to buy what is special and preferred. Hotel does provide for wedding favors but none is to our liking. So we asked the sales person to change it into cash value and get in another room with additional top up instead of taking the wedding favor for the sake of it. :)

Made our order today and can't wait for it to arrive in 2-3 weeks time! Another item down from the list!

Since I'm getting a mini tin, the whole idea is to get in customized M&Ms from US and I did a whole load of researches and email on shipping process, cost and how long can I keep etc. Played around with the online step by step customization guide and was very sure that I'm buying it, but it's very pricey!

Spent more time on customization to something that will be more relevant to our wedding and confirmed on the following. However, the shipping cost was mad and I hesitated for a long time. Luckily, one of my GF is visiting US and I can arrange for delivery to her hotel instead! Thought that everything was fine and placed an order with her US address, feeling happy over it!

But, who knows the image of the laughing Buddha cannot get through due to some copyright issues and was asked to change and a new photo needs to be submitted for order to be processed. Can't think of anything else as the other image was also being rejected and time was too short for processing and to be delivered to my friend on time.

M&Ms at Candilicious looks damn good too, but it's off my budget. Definitely not worth it since it's not even customized. Hence, gave up the whole M&M's idea.

Oh oh oh, so sad!

Chanced upon Fulvia and she is doing a business selling biscotti! Thought that it will be interesting if she could do mini biscotti to fit into my tin as well. Gave her the measurements and locked her bakery for my wedding favors! Ta-da, it's settled! No M&Ms but I'm still happy!
