Wedding preparations (Pre-wedding video)

Mirage Pictures Pte Ltd was our actual day photographer as well as our videographer for the pre-wedding video. You may check out Mirage at their facebook or Vimeo

We had so much fun on the actual filming day till we forgot to take still pictures of our own! I just realized that I have 0 photos to blog about and this post will be very boring! Just wordsssss :(

I hoped everyone enjoyed the pre-wedding video that we have worked on to share our joy with you! What happens behind scene was a group effort from the production crew as well as the main male and female lead!

As per my previous post, we chanced upon Mirage at BOWS wedding fair and after confirmation of the quote, our 1st meeting with Eric was at his office to brainstorm the kind of effect that we wanted to have for our video and also, taking a look at his office and some works to find inspiration. We touched base and discussed on what can be done and cannot be done through a mutual understanding but of course, nothing was concluded on the 1st meeting.

Took some time off to research for pre-wedding videos on the Internet and found some really good ones but as a pre-wedding video is customized to your own relationship, nothing much can be related.

While thinking of pre-wedding video concept, we were also looking for places for the pre-wedding photo-shoot at that time. Since one of our favorite past-times was to catch movie, we thought of taking still pictures in a cinema for memories (who knows how cinema will change over the next 30years).

Wrote in to the few main cinemas in Singapore namely Golden Village, Shaw theaters and Cathay. I was so glad that Shaw is able to accommodate to our request and willing to let us choose the cinema of our preference! HAPPY!!! We chose Shaw at Lido as it was newly renovated and seems to be the perfect place for photos. However, we were restricted as the only timing that they allowed us to do the necessary photo-taking, was in the morning before the 1st show begins.

Checked with Jazz Bridal on the timing and seems like they can't accommodate unless we pay extra for early services and being early, meant that we have to take outdoor shoot first, followed by indoor. We also have to prepare for make up earlier than the usual, choose the gown etc and make our way to orchard again from the bridal shop to pick up the photographer. All these doesn't sound right as it'll either be too rush, or the entire agenda will be too messed up if we were to slot in cinema as one of the photo-shoot venue.

Considering all options, I updated Eric that we have a venue in mind during our 2nd meeting and decided to meet up at Shaw to brainstorm the concept. We chose a MTV style video concept, but realistic on just natural shots of the dating process. Decided on a song and highlighted that we'll prefer that nothing is too demanding and with as minimum acting as possible. After a round of discussion, we decided to use the cinema for videography instead of photo-shoot!

The rest of the communication on the scenes etc after the 2nd meeting were all done and finalized via email.

The filming day!

Packed all the props the day before and Sis came over in the morning to help me with make up and we're all ready to set off for the filming. Met up with the Mirage crew in the morning at Shaw theatre and as we were a bit late, we proceed with the filming straight upon arrival!

Filming in the cinema was fun as we do not have to do anything much besides acting that we are watching a show and proceeded to the hall for more video-shoot before we get out to the busy streets at Orchard. I have never imagined myself doing a video-shoot in Orchard as that will be the last thing that I'll plan. But since it's early noon, Orchard wasn't really crowded and since Eric suggested, we went ahead with it and too some shots before we end the morning filming session.

Met up with the crew again in the evening at Barrage for more scenes and ended the entire filming at 7pm! Whew... Barrage filming was totally nature and we were basically, just playing around with whatever props that we have and followed Eric's direction. It was definitely a challenge that we will never regret. Both of us were worried that we might be too still for video or too fake in a way or another. But after going through the whole filming, everything turns out better than we expected.

Pre-wedding photo album (Outdoor album)

I like my make-up artist, Regine from Jazz Bridal as she was able to do up the hairstyle and make up in accordance to my gowns and perhaps, my style. I told her to decide on everything so long as the end result looks ok for me and only requested her not to be too exaggerated.

We were pretty satisfied with Adrian too, the freelance photographer for Jazz Bridal. We didn't communicate a a lot before the photo-shoot besides sharing with him on the props that we had, the whole environment was comfortable with Adrian being the photographer, more laugh points then embarrassment.

1st destination - Preserved train track site. It was very difficult to walk with my heels and despite the burning sun shining on us, we are not allowed to frown! Whew... but am happy with the photos!

It was through pure coincidence that we managed to get the yellow gown for our outdoor photo-shoot. Tried on many outdoor gowns as we are not allowed to bring the indoor gowns out to prevent it from being spoilt, but nothing seems suitable.

Luckily Liang asked if there is anything yellow to match his shirt! Ta-da, this gown fits perfectly and is so pretty! Most importantly, it's easy to wear and light!

2nd destination - Lorong Halus bridge. Weather was a bit cranky today! Just as we were perspiring non-stop beforehand, it started to drizzle when we reached punggol. Adrian made use of the rainy weather and managed to get the 'winter' and 'cold' feel.

Rain stopped soon after and my gown was already semi wet. We were both in white and took chances to sit on the bridge (ignoring the wetness and chance of dirtying Liang's white shirt and pants)!

Loves the sunflower photo effect, and the I'm flying post is not easy! Without the support of the sunflower stem, i don't think i'l be able to 'fly' as high... -.-'

3rd destination - Punngol waterway, where Bingcai and Lijun is waiting for us, with 100 balloons. However, it started to drizzle again and we braved through the rain and took some quick photos before the sunset is gone! The balloons were sagging due to the rain :( and we couldn't get the effect we wanted as wind were coming from all directions.

The dome could not be tied with the ideal 'flying in 1 direction balloons' scene. We had no choice but to put all the balloons together in the mist of the getting heavy rain. Very reluctantly, we released all the balloons to get the below effect! We made a wish and let the balloons fly high (ouch, $$$)! This photo is very expensive ar... haha!

I can't even try to jump as my dress was already very wet by then, too HEAVY! But I'm glad my make up is still intact at the end of the day!  I didn't even have time to touch up, nope, not even lip gloss. Ku-dos to Regine!

Thank you Yiting, Francine, Bingcai and Lijun for making themselves free on the photo-taking day and helping us to collect the different batches of balloons and running errands.

Thank you for helping out with my dress and changing of gowns! I couldn't tie the gown on my own for sure!

Thank you for shielding me with umbrella and also, shielding the photographer with umbrella while he take his photos of us!

Thank you for worrying on behalf that rain is coming and the balloons are no longer floating as strong as it is due to the long hours in sun and then with the rain!

Thank you for being around on one of the most memorable day in my life :)

Pre-wedding photo album (Indoor)

The feeling of going through the pre-wedding photos again is amazing, it felt just like yesterday that we were still running about to buy props and getting ready for the photo-shoot day.

Such moments are definitely worth a mention and deserves to be blogged about!

Ater selecting the photos, we made another trip to Jazz Bridal to confirm the photos layout and were pleased to confirm their design as there is nothing much that we can change. Think we only changed 1 of the photo positioning and everything else remained.

Pre-wedding photo shoot

We took about 500+ photos during the whole photo-shoot session for both indoor and outdoor, and had a hard time choosing 42 pieces out of the 500+ !

As usual, we were being adviced to buy all the photos at $2,000 and further negotiated to $1,500 i think. It was tempting enough but no! I rather spend that additional budget on our honeymoon instead of buying photos to keep in the computer.

Made a final decision to choose within the number of copies that we have in the package, and bought 0 photos as any additional photo chosen, will cost me $100. Better deal? $80 per copy is still considered expensive to me. Boo~

Enjoy the finest photo selected!

My personal favorite!

I love you! Thank you for all the precious moments~
