Pregnancy: Pre-natal Yoga (1st lesson)

Instructor was a fun, soft-spoken lady with beautiful voice from Brazil.

Per yoga batch consists of 10 lessons at $270 but we only paid $216 for 8 classes as we joined halfway and only started on the 3rd lesson. I was still worried that steps might be difficult to be followed through but after a while, stretches were considered manageable, nothing too complicated.

A total of 6 mothers-to-be turned up for the class and everyone has a tummy of similar size to mine! Stretches were easy and light throughout with focus on relaxing and working on the pelvic and tailbone most of the time. Everything that was taught, could be done at home easily if you have the right space and ambiance for Yoga!

Although it's an hour class, time seems to pass swiftly.

Everything was good for a start, nothing too negative except that I personnally felt that stretches are a little slow and too relaxing!

Environment was excellent with soothing music and light lightnings, one would feel more relax after a busy day at work. I'm sure I can't do it at home as I might just laze on bed instead of carrying out the stretches. Too much distraction at home too, ha-ha.

Pregnancy: Pre-natal Yoga

Told myself that I will join a pre-natal yoga class if I got pregnant someday to ensure that I minimize all the 'negative changes' of being pregnant.

Matched multiple researches to prove that pre-natal yoga is not recommended during 1st trimester as this stage is more prone for miscarriage. Hence, it is encouraged for pregnant ladies to start after 16 weeks as it is safer.
Now that I'm in my 2nd trimester, it's time for me to 'work' on it!

10 reasons to start

Gathered my homework and shortlisted a few places:

True Yoga: Well-known for Yoga and has 2 branches at Pan Pacific Plaza or Ocean Financial Centre but both seems far and I'd prefer my class to be smaller and private.

VandaYoga: Consultant provided clear advice on my enquiry email and has 2 places to choose from, either at Serangoon Road or China Square for weekends classes. Again, location is not ideal as I know I'll end up at home instead of making my way out!

Allaboutyoga: Offers a good range of Yoga selection for all and conducts the class at a studio within walking distance from my office. Such a good catch but the current batch is only available during office hours or on a Saturday. Didn't want to make special arrangements at work nor return to work area on a weekend and hence dropped this for the moment.

Inspiremum&baby: My ideal combination as it provides group class in a Condo and it's located at Simei at 8pm, every Tuesday. Overall profile looks good and saw a few recommendaation by mother-to-be via forum. Considering all factors: time, location and price, this made more sense as compared to the rest.

Finally decided on inspiremums and sent in my booking to request for my class to start as of 1 May 2013. Looking forward to our Taiwan trip and then, the start of my yoga class!
